Kanagawa weekend - Part Three

After the Daibutsu, we headed to the beach.

After 8 years in Florida, we're finding that we all really miss the beach, and we hate being landlocked! It's especially difficult knowing that we live on an island!!! But getting to the coast is difficult and takes forever, it's so frustrating!

We were surprised to see so many surfers out, it was really cold!

The sunset was in full swing by the time we got there.

This guy was one of the last surfers to leave the water, all the other surfers were wearing full wetsuits, but he was only wearing swimming trunks!

The sunset was so beautiful. None of us wanted to leave the beach, but it was soooo cold!

That beach is shockingly, unexpectedly beautiful- I mean Australian beaches beautiful. And I will say that Japan doesn't fly to mind when I think of beautiful, surfing beaches- and I don't know why not, seeing as it is an island and all. I am more motivated to visit with each blog.

This is just weird- the word verification is "crieve"...

Acutally, they're not that great! Most of the shoreline is really rocky, and most of the beaches are small, brown and really hard to get to. But sitting on a small, brown beach in JAPAN definitely beats sitting on a huge, gorgeous one the U.S. LOL

I check flights nearly every other day, still hovering around $1200 RT

I agree with ya Slime, I don't think Japanese beaches are beautiful either. And my Japanese husband agrees. But to be fair, though, after living in Hawaii for a few years we got used to the nice white sandy beaches and the clear blue water. Guam has beautiful beaches too, real pretty ones. Even the beaches in California are pretty cool. I mean, I bet the ones in Okinawa are gorgeous though. But the ones here in Chiba, ehhhhh! Nothing to write home about. Dark water, the sand on the beach is not as nice either and like you said the shoreline is indeed all rocky. We still go once in a while though. I love the honesty in your posts. And you are so so funny. : )

LOL Gina, I think you've definitely been spoiled when it comes to beautiful beaches! We're making tentative plans to go to Hawaii towards the end of May, we've never been!
