May 25th was Memorial Day for us. It's a U.S. federal holiday, so Otis had the day off, and the kids were out of school. Gabi particpated in the base's Memorial Day celebration with her ROTC class. It was the first time I'd really seen her "in action". She looked great and did a really good job!> >
Wow. Very impressive. I had to google ROTC- sounds like your daughter is way more organised than the average Japanese teenager when it comes to future plans etc. I know E goes to a local preschool but do the girls, too? Must be a culture shock!
Fuka-chan - no, the girls go to the regular, American school on base. I tried to convince them to go to a Japanese school, but they were scared :( But Gabi is in her second year of Japanese class, reading and writing well in hiragana and katakana, now working on kanji!
